Daniel is an American who was born in Taiwan and grew up in Macau and Hong Kong with his missionary parents. He graduated from Seattle Pacific University with a degree in Business Administration.

In 2005, he moved to the rural Philippines to pioneer ICM’s early livelihood initiatives, using both his business expertise and field experience to help launch what would become one of the industry’s most efficient and effective graduation models.

From 2005 to 2009, he primarily worked in the central Philippines, focusing on the rapid innovation and piloting of ICM’s livelihood programs and experimenting with different ways to create sustainable income for the ultra-poor. He facilitated staff development for ICM’s field base in Bohol, spending thousands of hours in the field, and wrote ICM’s livelihood training manual.

In 2010, he and his family moved to Metro Manila where he oversaw all of ICM’s livelihood programs in the Philippines. Four years later, he became ICM’s Deputy Chief Operating Officer, becoming COO in 2017. ICM has grown to employ 600 full-time Filipino staff in 34 branches across the Visayas and Mindanao, and expanded internationally to Uganda and Guatemala.
